Coffin Dust is playing The Acheron in Brooklyn on Thursday 3/29. For those of you not in the loop, I already wrote about this amazing up and coming Thrashy Swedish Death Metal style band and how they remind me of Intestine Baalism when I first started this blog. Here, once more, is the link to said review and FREE download:

The Acheron (Brooklyn, NY)
I guess The Acheron doesn't update their show listings often, but the show is listed HERE, so I'm inclined to give it a try.
Thanks to T. Ander for the tip.

Free amphibian obsessed noisecore
Toad Birth. Don't get the wrong idea, they are completely pro - Toads to the point of being anti-human. Amazingly enough, someone out there has gone to the trouble of painstakingly replicating trademark elements of the Anal Birth sound and design, but mixed it with amphibians as the theme instead of extreme gore. The same party is apparently responsible for a number of other projects that all seem to rely on an obsessive, technical biological information about frogs, toads, salamanders, etc. replacing where bands such as Lymphatic Phlegm would have paragraphs of pathological text about diseases and gory accidents. Toad Birth and Phyllomedusa seem to be the two most sustained and "human friendly" of all these recordings to me as a noisecore fan so far, but you can be the judge at this blog full of free downloads by an extremely strange and prolific noise artist/amphibian rights activist.

Max Roach invented the one foot blast
True story.
Exactly one minute in, Max displays chronozon force domination of the one foot blast. Keep watching for a closeup of his footwork (nice shoes).

Another day of life
While I'm at it here's an old jazz song that got me through many weary nights drinking rum while Big Frank smoked cigars and my old life passed before my eyes into today's godless path. I got this on the original vinyl at the bottom of a bookshelf full of records in the Salvation Army of Hempstead while on my way to an Artificial Brain rehearsal. It was one of those finds that justifies all the hours of my life I've wasted looking in thrift store record bins. I never looked at piano the same.

Still alive for now
Sorry for the hush in fresh squid but I've been very busy working overtime and practicing different disciplines of Death Metal. Every day I listen to this song on vinyl to test whether or not I still have a soul. So far Satan still hasn't scarfed the last little scraps because this piece of music moves me every time I hear it. Some of you may recognize it as the main sample in the MF Doom song "Friends".
We definitely listened to this in the Artificial Brain rehearsal space once.
